The Equality, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) committee is responsible for promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion at Alfaisal University, and ensuring everyone within the institution is included, respected, and supported. The committee shall consist of representatives from the University Council, Student Affairs, Research & Graduate Studies, and Human Resources. The committee may consult other staff or faculty members in connection with specific matters as it sees fit, and it may establish sub-committees to consider particular cases. The committee chair reports directly to the University’s President.

The EDI committee shall meet once per term, and meeting minutes should be recorded.

EDI committee responsibilities:

  • Provide organizational leadership and direction on all matters related to equality, diversity, and inclusion.
  • Develop and monitor the implementation of policies related to equality, diversity, and inclusion.
  • Provide information, support, and advise in matters related equality, diversity, and inclusion.
  • Evaluate hiring and admissions processes to ensure that diversity, equity and inclusion are considers in all decisions.
  • Recommend any major decisions relating to equality, diversity, and inclusion to the university leadership.
