The Office of Research provides an important interface with public and private members of the external community whose research agenda intersect with the research focus of Alfaisal University. The Research Office supports the research programs through research centers and chairs and through the University to collaborate with the research centers and entities who share the same interest.

Centers

Alfaisal University will establish Research Center programs by working closely with university’s departments and faculty. Research Centers will have their own budgets, research priorities and advisory groups. These centers will be funded and established through the Office of Research’s fundraising and development budget.
There are two main centers being developed in the field of water and aerospace and their focus will be aligned with the National Plan. These two centers will assist the University to expand or launch major new research endeavors significant to the Saudi Economy, and encourage the establishment or enhancement of University research capacity, enabling it to make major scientific and technological contributions, and to have a major impact on the scientific, engineering and industrial communities. Other centers will be established with support and coordination from the Research Office and different departments and colleges at the University.

Chairs

Office of Research is working to fund University’s Research Chair Programs through taking advantage of Government, private sectors and individuals initiatives. The Program assists the University to expand or launch major new research endeavors significant to Saudi Economy by encouraging the establishment or enhancement of University research capacity that will enable the University to make major scientific or technological contributions, and to have a major impact on the scientific, engineering and industrial communities. The Research Chair will be hosted at the related different colleges and departments of Alfaisal University. This Program seeks to:

Strengthen research excellence in Saudi Arabia;
Improve the training of highly qualified personnel through research;
Improve the University's capacity to generate and apply new knowledge;
Promote the best possible use of research resources through collaboration between sectors.

Research chairs will seek the following objectives:

Seeking and promoting new areas of research
Fostering cross disciplinary and other programs to benefit industry
Providing innovative programs of education and continuing professional education.
