Introductory Message from the Provost

Alfaisal University has been created with a clear commitment to excellence in teaching, research, and service. If our goal of shaping future leaders in diverse fields of human knowledge and enriching human thought is to be achieved, we must recruit, support, and retain individuals of the highest qualification and professional dedication as members of the Alfaisal University faculty. Our purpose in this Handbook is to ensure a clear understanding of the role of the faculty in the University and of their rights and responsibilities, so as to enable the faculty to spread and develop knowledge and contribute to the progress of humanity.

Following a brief introduction to the University and its organization and philosophy, this Handbook covers in detail policies, rules and regulations concerning the employment, benefits, privileges, duties, and responsibilities of faculty members. Although a determined effort has been made to provide complete and accurate information, the Handbook may not contain all applicable regulations. The University is not liable for errors and omissions that may have occurred inadvertently. Furthermore, the current policies, rules, and regulations of the University will change from time to time. Consequently, this Handbook will be updated as and when necessary to incorporate those changes. It is the responsibility of the members of the faculty to seek the correct information from the departments concerned.
