Research Interests:
- Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and
scientific computing their engineering applications, such as fluid-structure
interaction, data storage devices, biomedical engineering, internal
combustion engines, fuel cells and renewable energy using CFD as a design
tool.
Current projects:
- CFD Simulation of Fluid-structure Interaction with Large Deformation,
funded by PRC National Natural Science Foundation.
- Mechanics and mechanism of insect flight, funded by NTU.
- Development of a Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cell Stack Operating
under Self-Humidifying Condition, funded by Economic Development Board of
Singapore .
- 3D unsteady Blood Flow and fluid-structure interaction in the Circle of
Willis, funded by PRC National Natural Science Foundation.
- Development of novel hydro turbines for electricity generation using
tidal waves and wind turbines, funded by industrial sponsors.
- An investigation on the hydrodynamics and thrust generation of complex
naturally evolved fin-based propulsive motion system, funded by Ministry of
Education Singapore.
