Dr. Samer Mansour, Ph.D.
Assistant Prof. of Mathematics
Curriculum Vitae
Dr. Mansour joined Alfaisal University in Sept. 2010 as an assistant prof.
of mathematics at the College of Science and General Studies.
Dr. Mansour received a BSC in computer engineering from the University of
Balamand, Lebanon. He received a MSC and a Ph.D. in Engineering Mathematics
from Dalhousie University, Canada.
Dr. Mansour enjoys computer programming related to control systems and their
simulation. He contributed a control systems simulator to the tools provided
by the NCS. He also worked for Trihedral Engineering Ltd. where he enjoyed
designing and implementing SCADA\HMI software as part of the VTS/VTSCADA
team. Major projects that he was involved in were implementing and
integrating an SNMP driver and a Rate of Change tag into VTS\VTScada.
Dr. Mansour also takes great joy in teaching. He taught engineering
mathematics and programming courses at Dalhousie University Faculty of
Engineering and received the Professor Appreciation Award from Dalhousie’s
Engineering Society. At Trihedral Engineering he also delivered many
training courses in VTS script programming for system integrators who bought
VTS.
Dr. Mansour’s research interests include: Model Predictive and Fuzzy Control
Systems- IP Based Networked Control Systems modeling, simulation, and design
-Linear Control Methods equivalence -Internetworking, Signal Processing, and
optimization for control applications –HMI\SCADA software design and
implementation –Home automation and remote control.
