Dr.
Hassan Said
Dr. Hassan A. Said has a PhD in Business Administration, majoring in Finance
with a minor in Quantitative Methods from The University of Alabama. He also
has eighteen hours of post-doctoral graduate accounting courses from the
University of Alabama and Mississippi State University. Dr. Said also has
two Masters Degrees; MA in Finance and an MBA from the University of Alabama
and St John’s University respectively, all degrees are from the US with the
exceptions of his Higher Diploma in Insurance Management and Bachelor degree
in Accounting from the Baghdad University, Iraq. Dr. Said is currently
serving as an associate professor of accounting at Alfaisal
University-College of Business.
Dr. Said has over twenty-four years of both academic and professional
experience doing research, teaching, and service at the graduate and
undergraduate levels. He has worked in the banking, insurance and credit
industries in New York, in academia he has worked in many public
institutions in the USA and served many communities including consulting
work for US Fed Government, city commissions, chamber of commerce, private
enterprises, and not-for-profit organizations. He is expertise are in
insurance, financial accounting, risk analysis, corporate financial
reporting and US tax systems. He has been tenured in every institution he
previously served and provided relevant administrative support for the
institutions’ AACSB accreditation.
Dr. Said has a diversified interest in research, he has published numerous
refereed business journal and presented many articles in regional, national
and international conferences. Most of his research attention focused on
corporate reporting and policy issues, risk analysis for individuals and
financial institutions. His is current research is dealing with risk
aversion assessment and ethical positions for individuals with different
backgrounds.
This is the first time he visits the Saudi Kingdom (besides Hajj many years
ago), and living in Riyadh is an exciting experience for him, more
importantly is witnessing the genuine application of the three foundations
(Faith, Knowledge, and Performance) of Alfaisal University. Sharing thoughts
and discussions with (diverse male and female) students anxious for
knowledge, undertaking the creed, and performance of the University’s
constituents (students, faculty, staff, administrators, and benefactors)
makes Alfaisal an institution with a promising cultural environment,
flourishing and energetically growing not only nationally but also
internationally.
