Alan G. Goodridge, Ph.D.

Provost & Vice President for Academic Affairs,

Dr. Alan Goodridge was appointed Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs, and Acting President of Alfaisal University in March 2007. As Provost, he is responsible for all academic and student-affairs programs.

Dr. Goodridge received a B.S. in Biology from Tufts University and a Ph.D. in Zoology from the University of Michigan. After postdoctoral training at Harvard Medical School, he held sequential faculty positions in basic biomedical sciences at the Universities of Kansas and Toronto and Case Western Reserve University, and was Head of the Department of Biochemistry at the University of Iowa.

Dr. Goodridge had a distinguished career in life science research during this period, publishing 85 refereed journal articles and book chapters. In addition to membership on numerous U.S. federal advisory panels, he was Associate Editor of the Journal of Biological Chemistry, Annual Reviews of Nutrition and the Journal of Lipid Research, premier journals in his field. His career as a fulltime academic administrator began as Dean of the College of Biological Sciences at Ohio State University, and continued as Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs and Enrollment Services at the University of Toledo (Ohio). Increased faculty research and student academic performance highlighted each administrative role.
