Dr. Abdulhamid Al-Abduljabbar, PhD,
Vice President for Student Affairs

Dr. Abdulhamid Al-Abduljabbar was appointed Vice President for Student Affairs at Alfaisal University in August 2008. He is responsible for all student-affairs business and activities, including admission, registration, scholarships, activities and services.

Previously he served as the Dean of Continuing Education for Colleges of Technologies, and Dean of the Al-Ahsa College of Technology; and the Director General of the General Directorate of Private Training at Technical and Vocational Training Corporation (formerly GOTEVOT). He also held the position of Dean of Student Affairs and Community Service at Prince Sultan University.

Dr. Al-Abduljabbar received a B.S. in Applied Mechanical Engineering from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM), Dhahran, with Highest Honors. He received PhD in Mechanical Engineering and Applied Mechanics from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, 1997. Dr. Al-Abduljabbar served as Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering at Riyadh College of Technology; where he carried out teaching and research activities. He also served as Visiting Professor at Department of Mechanical Engineering at KFUPM. In 2006, he was promoted to Associate Professor of Mechanical Engineering.

Dr. Al-Abduljabbar’s research interest covers constitutive and fracture behavior of plastic and composite materials, with concentration on effects of hydrostatic pressure effects on yield and toughness, mechanical properties enhancements in polymer-clay nanocomposites.
