Ali
A. Othman
Laboratory Instructor
Curriculum Vitae
Mr. Ali Othman joined Alfaisal University in 2010 and currently serves as
the Chemistry Laboratory Instructor. Previously he was with the Jordan
University of Science & Technology (J.U.S.T.) in Irbid where he worked from
2006 to 2010 as Research Fellow and Teaching Assistant. He was also worked
as Research Assistant at the German Jordanian University in Amman(Jordan).
He obtained his BSc in 2005 from the Jordan University of Science and
Technology in Applied Chemistry.
He was awarded his MSc in 2008. His thesis was entitled ''Synthesis,
Characterization and Physical Properties of Thermo- and pH- Sensitive
Copolymers of HEMA-NIPAAm and HEMA-MAAM ''. This research involved the
preparation of various copolymers and the testing of their physical and
kinetic properties. The results of this project were presented at the 5th
Jordanian International Conference of Chemistry at Yarmouk University
(Jordan) and were published in the Journal of Applied Polymer Sciences
(JAPS) as well as the Journal of Macromolecular Science-Part A (JMS-PAC).
His current research interests are focused on stimuli-responsive hydrogels,
polymer, and graphene-polymer chemistry. In the case of graphene-polymer
chemistry, his ongoing research includes: synthesis, modification and
characterization of graphene-polymer structures and surfaces using
spectroscopic, thermal and morphological techniques.
