Prof. Abdulmajeed A. Mohamad

Curriculum Vitae
Dr. A. A. Mohamad is a Professor of Mechanical Engineering, Alfaisal University.
He graduated with a Ph.D. from the School of Mechanical Engineering, Purdue
University, W. Lafayette, USA in 1991 and M.Sc. and B.Sc. from Baghdad
University, Iraq. He is the author and co-author of more than 200 technical
papers and couple of book chapters. He is author of a book entitled “Applied
Lattice Boltzmann Method for Transport Phenomena, Momentum, Heat and Mass
Transfer”. Dr. Mohamad is a permanent reviewer for most international journals
in thermal sciences and computational techniques. Also, he reviewed and
evaluated a few research proposals and Ph.D. theses for many countries, such as
Canada, Brazil, India, Australia, France, Hong-Kong, China.
Dr. Mohamad has organized and chaired a few conferences on Computational Methods
and Transports in Porous Media. He has been invited as a keynote speaker and
guest lecturer by many institutes around the world. He held a few administrative
positions in Cyprus and Calgary. He was chair for thermofluid labs and director
of graduate studies for many years, dept. of Mechanical and Manufacturing
Engineering, Also, Acting Director for Centre for Environmental Engineering,
Research and Education (CEERE), Schulich School of Engineering, Univ. Of
Calgary.
Dr. Mohamad is a Fellow member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineer
(ASME). His area of research is mainly in fluid flows, heat and mass transfer,
combustion and thermal energy systems, computational techniques, solar energy
and transports in porous media.
